When Greg Olsen retires from football, the Pro Bowl tight end won't have to wait long to for a new career opportunity.

According to a report from Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, Olsen will work alongside Fox Sports NFL play-by-play man Kevin Burkhardt as a commentator when his NFL career ends.

Burkhardt and Olsen will serve as the No. 2 commentary team for Fox, behind Joe Buck and Pro Football Hall of Famer and three-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Troy Aikman.

Many expected Olsen to retire and move into the broadcast booth after the 2018 season, but he wound up returning to the Carolina Panthers. He finished the season with 52 receptions for 597 yards and two touchdowns.

Olsen moved on from the Panthers after the 2019 season. He signed a one-year deal worth $7 million with the Seattle Seahawks. Olsen, who spent the previous nine years with Carolina, played his first four NFL seasons with the Chicago Bears.

The Seahawks, who have made the playoffs in two consecutive seasons, will give Olsen a chance at an elusive Super Bowl championship ring. He joins a superb receiving unit that includes Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf.

The 35-year-old Olsen has earned three Pro Bowl selection, and he's posted 718 career receptions for 8,444 yards and 59 touchdowns. Olsen helped Carolina reach Super Bowl 50, where they fell to the Denver Broncos by a final score of 24-10.

Olsen isn't the only other active NFL player who's slated to enter the broadcast booth when he retires. New Orleans Saints quarterback and future Hall of Famer Drew Brees will join NBC Sports as an analyst when he retires. Brees briefly pondered retirement this offseason before deciding to return for at least one more year.

Both Olsen and Brees will have the broadcasting gigs waiting for them once they retire, whether that's after 2020 or possibly 2021.
